10 Years wit' my Maxima.

So guys, I've owned my Maxima for 10 years as of today. I wasn't quite sure what I was getting into at the time, but it wouldn't have gotten quite as far without this forum or the ones that have led up to it over the years. Your knowledge and input has been invaluable. Even though I might be considered more of a casual "post-er" on this forum, I don't have much time in my day in front of the computer...it's either at work, on my feet, or behind the wheel of my Maxima. So thanks again. Hopefully I'll see some of you around this summer. Peace.

Must say congrats on the 10th. Had my 96 for 8 years with almost 150k on her, got a 97 5 spd over her, guess she got jealous.

WTF! Is this a typo, if your Max only has 36K it should be still running strong.

My Max will be 12 years old on October 1 and I'm just shy of 64K, mostly highway miles and it is indeed still running strong. I still am running the original spark plugs, lol!

Maxima FTW! i love how our 9 or 10 year old cars can still keep up with popular so-called "sporty" cars out there that are brand new (ie. Scion tc, Tiburon v6, Mazda 6 v6, and plenty more)

my friend has a 99 SE with over 270K miles on it. His stock exhaust just went on him so I pointed him over to the group buy on this forum. He also just replaced his original clutch and shocks at about 200K miles.

His goal is to reach 1 Million miles and then end up in Nissan commercials. hahaha

original clutch and shocks at about 200K miles.

No way? really? HE must be a really good stick driver, if his clutch lasted that long. If it was really original let him know the standard clutch usally last aprox 80k+ miles until you need a new one.

Not longer but then mine’s a ‘99 so, on the time-continuum, that’d be impossible.

I have this personal philosophy ...

Any dumb-sh** earning a paycheck can buy a new car. It takes a special person to keep an old.

It it appears that you share that philosophy.

Good for you.

This 4th gen was given to me in 2011 so I had her for ten hard years! She was driven to Dallas every week for about 6 months then used for roaming maintenance chancing our helicopter fleet here in south Texas. It now has 450K on it...Some days there's 500 miles of driving to do! I drive it in comfort, really decent gas mileage, shealth tool concealment!

I'm coming up on 13 years with my Maxima. I didn't drive it much the last few years. But now it has a fresh tune-up and passed inspection a week ago, so it's back to being of my dailys again.

99 Nissan Maxima GLE Still going Strong in 2021

I've had my Maxima since 2007 one of the best cars I've ever bought. The motor has to be one of the best ever made. I always keep up on the maintenance. I change the oil every 3,000 religiously. I love this car!! It has 219,000 miles on it.
