Boost sensor hose??

Okay, I'm not too mechanically inclined when it comes to sensors so bare with me. I was just checking over my car and I came across a hose that was not connected to anything accept for a sensor that is stamped boost sensor. I believe it was connected to the factory intake air duct, but I cant recall. Its been over 3 yrs since I installed my intake so I dont remember if the hose has ever been connected anywhere. I checked all my hoses and fittings along the throttle body and around there but didnt see where it should be connected.

Does anyone know where this hose is supposed to be connected to? I was think maybe the intake, but thats just me guestimating! Thanks in advance

bump for a lost guy needing some answers..

What I'm trying to find out is if this sensor is left like it is (without the hose being connected) does it affect the performance... and if it does, where does it go connecteed to?? Should I attach it to the intake piping??

this is just a breather hose if im not mistaken... if you give a pic we can tell you for 100% certain.

this breather hose is hooked up to the tranny i belive but it doesnt do anything but point down (up and then down :P). it looks like its suppose to go into the stock airbox but its not suppose to. just leave it alone.

if im not right, then post a pic.

okay, here's the picture. As you can see, the other end of the hose is not connected. And if it's a breather hose, my guess is that it has to read something, since there's a sensor connected to it. right?? So where do I connect it to?

dont mind the dirt... its hard to keep engines clean around here. Too much wind and dirt! Sux living in a dessert

It comes from the snorkel part of the intake scoop assembly.

It doesn't do anything, or at least anything important. Mine is hanging in the engine bay also. You might want to check on that vacuum line connected to it though, I believe mine is connected to a vacuum source.

BTW, love how your max's lookin.

I knew it was located there before but it concerned me cuz of the sensor that was attched to it. What vacuum line do you have it connected to?? CAn you take pics of your setup so I can see where its connected to?

And thanks for the props!! YOu got a nice ride too

ok... here is what it says in the manual...

page EC-14 (ENGINE AND EMISSIONS CONTROL OVERAL SYSYEM)... labled vacuum HOSE drawing.

the part that says "BOOST SENSOR" on it actually says its something else in the manual. its an "ABOSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR". and it plugs into the "MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve".

that MAP/BARO thing is right next to the EVAP canister purge control solenoid valve.

and the actuall thing your holding ie the boost sensor aka absolute pressure sensor is suppose to be connected to the ram air induction thinggie, which i dont know the real name of (im guessing your removed it to put in your custom air intake.

all the pics are in the manual if you want better idea. if you can find a PDF that would help ya out too, so you dont have to go get one.

more links that might help...
