im asking for a friend his car stalls when hes at a stop light if he doesnt hit the brakes and actauly rev it up. what could the problem be? would a vaccum leak cause this to happen? its not that the throttle isnt open either its somthing else.

 

I had the same problem last year, have him check MAFS.

Engine Coolant Temp Sensor problems can cause that.

 

I'm going with the ever popular throttle body needs cleaned. If mine hasn't been clean in a while my car will stall.

 

Same thing happened to me right after I installed a pop charger.

One of the rubber vacuum hoses came loose near the MAF.
