spoiler does not light up

I purchased a rear spoiler from a spoiler depot on ebay. After having it painted and installed, the spoiler does not light up. My body shop guy said he tried multiple power sources, none of which worked. Is there anything else that could be wrong, in which I can fix, or should I demand a refund from the seller (which sucks because I just paid $220 to have it painted and installed). Thanks in advance

You can tap into the 3rd brake light from the rear deck or you can tap into the rear brake light for power. Unless all the LED's are shorted out in the brake light on the spoiler, I would just buy another one (spoiler light). They are relatively cheap for aftermarket ones. I had bought one for about $30.00 and installed a clear LED on mine. I highly doubt that you will get a refund from the seller since you already installed and painted it.

If tapping into the third brake wire doesn't work, try replacing the wiring to the lights because they may have breaks in them. Then try tapping into the brake light again. If all else fails, you could do a cool install using a red neon tube in place of the spoiler lights. I think that would be unique.
