spark plugs and air filters

Hey guys!.
I think its time for me to change the spark plugs because they have not been changed for a while. Also, is there a sign when they need to be replaced?
Can I just get non-NGK platinum spark plugs or do I have to get NGK ones since they are really expensive at $16.00.

One more question, I do not want to get cone filters, but still should I get the flat K&N filter? What are your recommendations?

I'f you've never changed your plugs than change them! Get NGK Platinums #PFR5G-11 from Courtesy Parts.com, 6 pack for $57.00.
For the air filter, get an Amsoil EaA74 panel filter (absolute efficiency)
cleaning is every 25k, and lasts 4 years.

you can get the NGK coppers and they are just as good as the plats just last half as long. But for ~$1.20 a plug much cheaper. K&N panel drop in will do a good job.

Just blow out the dust at every oil change! As for desert climates, it's not made for offroad!!! (amsoil.com)EaA74
