Shifter trim piece idea/question
Shifter trim piece idea/question
ok, so i always figured that the shifter trim piece from an auto would work to replace the commonly-broken trim on 5 speeds, and i was right.
the trim fits perfectly, and the shifter doesn't hit it at all (IMPORTANT: i have a 00-01 tranny, it might hit with the stock 4th gen tranny).
the only thing i have to figure out is how to attach the boot, as there are no clips on the auto trim. the only catch is that i want it to be easily removable (no glue) and fairly clean/non-ghetto (no duct tape
). any ideas?

... well instead of glue all round.... take the meatal wire and use silicone on just teh conrners.
you can cut thorugh the silivone with box cutter if you want....
hmm funny... cuase my 5speed trim is borken toward the back.. heh

hmm, that's a good idea actually, i'll see what i can do.
mine was broken really badly: cracked all the way through on both sides, AND a 2 inch long piece missing towards the back! the point of the thread was mainly to let everyone know that this works.
