Cloth -> Leather Seats...

I have OEM Nissan leather from another car. I want to put them on my seats that are cloth. I called an upholstery store to see how much the hooks and other random supplies would be. I also asked them how much it would cost to have them put the leathers on, just out of curiousity. They said that on my Max, the contours of the leather would be different and they wouldn't do it because it wouldn't look very good. Is this true? Would Nissan make different seats depending on cloth or leather interior? If anyone who has experience of working with OEM leather and cloth seats could fill me in, I'd appreciate it.

yes, they are. seller wasn't sure if they were 95-96 or 97-99, but they are 4th gen. they are just the leather stripped off of the seats.

That sounds bogus to me.

My automatic has cloth seats, and my 5spd has black leather, and the seats look identical to me, but maybe somebody can chime in if in fact they are different.

I've done one years ago. It was a lot of pulling and tugging and re-doing. In the end it was worth it,but had I to do it over again I would probably pay someone $100 or so to do it right.

the foam cushions between the two are the same and upholstery is easy. I did new aftermarket leather on mine and it turned out great. It was my first time and all I needed was a bag of hog rings and hog ring pliers.
