Has anyone ever used these euro clear diamond-cut headlights off of ebay?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-96...03433046QQrdZ1

or these

I am looking for new head lights... mine are all smokey and look like they have pollen in them. So I was wondering if anyone has used any of these. If so, how did they work, and were they any good?

Try opening them up and cleaning them, and doing some wetsanding on them first. I was about to dish out money for new ones but after doing wetsanding and AE mod they turned out like new!

What grit did you use to wetsand with? How high did you go? and do you have to use Black on the AE mod? or could I color match? I have a Sterling Mist Max. How do you think that would look?

Those look exactly like mine; search the threads there's a couple posts on them. Mine were glass but since these auctions don't specify you should ask the seller first to be sure. As for the quality (assuming they're the same glass ones I have) they are excellent. There was some talk about excess glare due to the bulb shield but frankly I don't buy it; I haven't had a single problem. They look great and WAY outperform oem 95-96 headlights.

I'm not sure about grit I have yet to wetsand mine, but you can do any color you want in the AE mod. Whatever paint you buy can be put in there.....I'd just think that you should look for some pretty good heat resistant paint.

to wetsand the headlights, start with 800 or 1000 grit, depending on how bad the yellowing/haziness is, then work your way up to 2000, then rubbing compound, then polishing compound, then some scratch-x then sealant to finish things up.

Just tried the mod this weekend....failed miserably .... so I just bought the clear black ones from the 2nd link, earlier today.... Ill let you know how it looks and fits later this week when I get them, but for now, it's ghetto cruzing for me with two almost melted corners, one half assed AE light and one completley fog white headlight due to the wetsanding.... ....this will be the last time I fail this bad with a mod

How you failed?! Left in oven for too long? I remembered melting the corner light on my Accord once from leaving it too long in the oven, but I was using those small ones.

Thats how life is dude. CE won't sell them for that low they need to make some kind of profit from their distributor. You bring your car for a trade in, you will get nothing for it and the moment you leave the lot they sell it for 3-5k more. Just the game of life.

Well I'd never buy anything from CE anyway because I know they mark up the hell out of anything they sell. It's just like buying from your local auto boutique, they think they are the only ones that sell a particular item so they mark it up thinking that you won't have a choice but to get it from them. I might jump on this thing and replace my headlights.

BTW, if you guys are going to bake your lights, use a stop watch or some kind of timing device so you don't end up leaving your lights in there too long.

LOL Yeah, eventhough I timed it right and had the right temp it still killed it and I only left the corners in there for like 3 mins, but oh well, i ordered the black corner lights along with my black clear headlights, so I have to suffer for a couple of days, sucks, but no turning back now......

I started sanding last night, started with 1000, went to 1200... need to go get some 2000 or 3000 today... but anyway... started cleaning of the chrome on the inside, it looked like it was dusty and had pollen on it, so I durtexted it and the chrome started rubbing off... but oh well, I am going to continue fixing these and see how it works out. Please let me know of some good polishs. Thanks!

Hey this headlight topic begs the question of halo projector headlights...... is it possible for the fourth gen maximas? I have looked around for halo proj's for my '97 SE and I can only see them made for the 2000+ maximas. Any ideas or recommendations? Oh and VIP and KR, those glass headlights look absolutely rad.
