So I go to the dealership this morning and the maxima is not there anymore.
I can't believe someone beat me to it.

It might be possibly for me get a 2003 Altima 3.5 auto.
What do all think of that ride?

I don't think the Altima is anything compared to the Maxima speed-wise. But it does have a VQ35, and it looks good, I would get it.

Altima is more of a luxury car IMO. I sat in an 03 and the seats are very comfortable the ride is very smooth. Go with the 5.5. You won't regret it.

the thing is I don't see too many 5.5 6spd maximas around here.I check the auto traders every week and have only seen a couple 6spds.
There are plenty of automatics though.

I think they both = complete junk.. I'm too tired to do a 2 page write-up on how Ghosn is practically the "Best" politically inclined CEO ever, yet has dragged the company quality levels down 10 fold and doesn'y care about the consumer one bit, once again "The Best CEO, Ever."

Post 5.5 Gen era.

Post 5.5 Gen era.
My rant with the new Altima and newer 6th Gen maximas are the completely non-sensical wheel wheel gaps in the front.

They had the wheel well gap somewhat taken care of with the 5th Gen, and then made a MASSIVE wheel well gap on the front tires for the 6th gen that is even worse than the 4th gen. For for whatever reason, the rear wheel well gap looks reasonably tight.

The new Altimas are just as stupid with nice wheel well gap in the rear and a WAY TOO BIG wheel well for the front tires.

What were they thinking?????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????

I drove a 2000 Maxima with automatic and wasn't that impressed. But it was a GLE model.

A 2002 SE-6 speed with MLSD should be a much nicer ride.

either way, don't settle for an automatic, you will hate youself, and rightfully so. Find the 6 speed!

I drove 8 hours to pick up my 95 5speed, bought it on ebay (from a dealer though).

My mom has a 2003 SE, but it is an automatic. Sure it is fun to drive, but you just can't lose that third pedal, it makes a world of difference.

I saw an ad online for a 97 5spd near where I live, but when I went to go see it, they had already sold it. Someone is playing with me.

The alti's are faster than the max in from 02 - 03. The auto's are no slouch at all and can be had for a good price. The 5 speeds are just a touch better and very nice cars for their current price range.
