Sensor on oil pan?

Sensor on oil pan?

hey guys. i just took a peak under my car and spotted a sensor that is suppose to plug into the oil pan just hanging. Anyone know what its for? Im not sure how long its been just hanging tho..

thats looking forward towards the engine. It looks like it connected to that yellowish plug? what does it do?

would it cause a problem being unplugged? the connector on the pan is broke. looks like the plastic clip snapped... blah time for a guage

I'm not sure if you are going to have to replace the pigtail or not. It clicks into place like any other sensor. Peel that boot back and see it it was part of the connector that broke off inside. I'm suprised your not throwing a code.

It looks like that thing has been sweating anyway, very common.

same thing happened to mine but the car never through out any codes. I just plugged it back in....come to think about it, I havent checked to see if its still connected or not! Thats on my long list of things to do
