auto.. not shifting.

auto.. not shifting.

I have an automatic.. when i am going about 60-80 it seem like it should be shifting but its not.. its at about 3000 RPM's which seems normal.. or not??

at 80 the rpms should be at about 2800 to 3000 in 4th gear. us autos dont have a beautiful 5th gear.

If your going 80mph, your probably already in 4th grear (or 3rd if you turned off overdrive)

Sounds normal to me. mine's around 3000rpm when I am going 70 mph

It should downshift when you step on it, other than that sounds ok...

alright.. thanks guys.. it just seems like the engine was working harder and making more noise than usuall.. ill take it for a test ride again to see if i can find what gear i am in.

that's normal. Turn off overdrive and you should be like 4300 rpms in 3rd gear at 80mph (if i remember correctly...)

haha..i read the owners manual a while back when i was bored.. if i can remember correctly your not supposed to go over 70 with overdrive off.. i guess a couple times doesnt hurt though..

That's not really what I would call normal. I'm typically ~2400 RPM in 4th doing 70 MPH (~2000 for 60 MPH).

yea.. mine sounds like it is revving too much when im going 60, 70, 80.. it just doesn't seem right.. everyone so far on here says its fine but im still wondering.

I suppose it's within the realm of "normal" but still somewhat high in comparison to what I've experienced. Atleast yours isn't revving as high as Hexon's car Makes me wonder why there's a difference in all these things given the same conditions (i.e. we all have the same basic ECU & TCU and tranny, etc.)
