Short shifter? Poly shifter bushing? Lightened flywheel while you're in there?

buy two new axle seals incase you rip one up while removing or reinstalling the transmissions.

Replacing the RMS is a lot of work, especially if you've never done it before. gotta pull off the upper pan. Not worth it unless its leaking real bad.

I wish people would just answer a question sometimes...

Clutch disk
Pressure plate
rear main seal
axle seals (2)
throw out bearing, make sure to put some grease on the shaft
resurface the flywheel. I'm not sure if it's two stepped or one.

Now, make sure you thread lock the flywheel bolts. If you do not, oil will seep through the threads. Also make sure you perfectly align the disk, otherwise you will have a rough shifting mechanism and some chatter when you let the gear slow you down.

Pull off the Upper Pan ?? No you dont. The rear main seal is in clear view when you pull the transmission off of the car. Get a new one from Nissan, and install.

The funny think about rear main seals is they don't usually 'leak'. They are not pressurized, therefor they typically don't progress like that. They let go all at once, I'd rather replace it while I was there.

I having some problems with the my 2000 max. I'm thinking that there could possibly be a problem related to the stage 1 nismo clutch that I put in 3 months ago. From time to time, I will have problems putting the car from neutral into first gear or from neutral to anygear for that matter. It just started a couple of days ago. It only happens after I first start it up. When it does happen, I have to turn the car off and move the shifter into first and then start the car. Any ideas from anyone? Or can anyone tell me if a worn clutch could be the cause of my problems?

Sounds like you need to adjust your clevis slightly, or your synchros are losing their touch. Can you get it in if you double clutch?

Maybe Im thinking of it differently. Can you actually replace just the round rubber seal without pulling the whole thing out?

The PROPER method involves removing the pan.
