Headlight Issue

Well this isnt the first time i change the harness to the headlights on my max. This is actually the second time im replace them because of melting issues. No! i dont use anytype of fancy bulb, regular 9004. So i found a pair of harness that I had in a box laying around and the good thing about them is that the wire is thick. I installed them on and when i went to turn the headlights on my highbeam light on the dash is on, i go and see the headlights and the passenger headlight is perfect and the driverside is dim, like if it was a bad bulb, i already tryed 2 diff bulbs on the dim headlight and its still low and when i put my highbeams on," the passenger light dims". WHAT THE H3LL is going on. Could this be beacause the wire of the harness is thicker than the stock or what.? Oh i forgot, the bulbs that i was trying to use are PIAA 9004

Has to be a mixed up wire. I had the exact same thing when I had to replace the wire harness due to my melting problems because of my fancy bulbs. I had a wire switched and the bright light was on in my car and when I flicked the high beam "on" the light turned off but my actual brights WERE ON!!!!! it was frustarating as fnck, but then I did some wire switching and that fixed the problem...

Thanks for the info, Im gonna try and doing some wire switching, because now that i remember the harness that im trying to install has
Black, Green and Pink and the stock are Black Green and Blue and you know i put the blck with black the green with green and the pink with blue. Maybe there could be a issue there since the harness has thicker wire. Im just hopeing for this harness to work because it looks more resistant to heat that the cheap g@y stock ones

Anymore ideas are welcome
Thanks

this same thing happend in my 95. When I bought the car it had replaced harnesses, the guy got the two wires mixed up. So I switched them around and everything works fine now.

Im guessing that the high and low beam wires are crossed on the dim light. Thats what I did accidentally on my cefiro swap.

please use a FLUKE or equivalent to test the wires b4 you go turning it on or have a case of fuses ready.
