few 5 spd swap questions

im about to start the swap next weekend and am curious about the master cylinder. are the auto and manual masters different ? i bought a 5 speed swap "kit" from another orger and he said there was a master in there but there wasnt. my master is in fine condition. kinda annoyed there was no clutch fork, retainer spring and dust boot in the "kit". thanks.

what do you guys think i paid 535 shipped for the flywheel ring, shifter, shifter rods, both used axels but good condition, shifter mount, assorted bolts in a bag, brake petal, clutch petal, slave cylinder

ps.. clutch and flywheel i diddnt get cause i have aftermarket...

good price ?

on a auto there is no such thing as a master cylinder. ONLY on manual cars they have master cylinder for the clutch.

Also read the how to, and it will help you out a lot.

theres a master only on an auto and a master and slave on a manual the slave is for the clutch. i have a slave cylinder. i was curious if the auto master would work with the slave cylinder or if i needed a manual master to work the slave....

no.

what exactly would a CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER be used for in an automatic? you will need both of them.

maybe you're thinking of your BRAKE master cylinder? they're different.

All cars have brake MC's... MT equipped cars have slave cylinders for the clutch.

good luck installing stock hydralic clutch line. It's PITA to install it to a maxima with ABS. My car doesn't have ABS, but it was still b!tch to install it.
