Lesson Learned

For a few days now my dad has been telling me I should get my tire pressure checked because one tire looked slightly deflated. Being the mechanic that I am I took a few looks at it, even stabbed at it with a finger or two to see what the damage was. I saw that the tire seemed a teeny bit deflated but it appeared to be nothing serious. Long story short I end up driving to Delaware, a 3 hour round trip, half the time in the rain, and on the way back decide to check the tire pressure while refueling at a gas station. 2 psi is what my shocked eyeballs read. Turns out a huge screw was in the tire and needless to say I should have checked the pressure much earlier. Thank God the previous owner put some Bridgestone $150 dollar a piece tires on the car, probably what saved me in the end. They might be run flats, infact.

Moral of the story...buy a tire pressure measurer thingy magingy device a doodle dee da.

being a mechanic, you think I should change my tire as my uncle tells me to? its practically brand new but theres a spot on the sidewall that looks like a slight swell. its nothing big, only visable at sunset at certain light angles

wow man 2 psi. you have to have run flats not to notice then.

its pretty obvious on any tire with less then 10 psi if its low or not. minus the run flats or super stiff sidewall/ low profile tires.

I think you missed my sarcasm or maybe Im missing your sarcasm. Im not a mechanic by any means but if I were you I would get it checked out, you dont want your tire blowing.

I'm a girl and I know to check my tires often! Please tell me when you say 'mechanic', you don't mean the kind of mechanic that works on cars.....particularly Maximas?!
