Cruise Control Half Moon Loose

I noticed the other day that the half moon that holds the cruise control cable is loose. Is this normal? If not, does anyone know how to fix it?

Not normal.
Check for a loose nut somewhere. There are two nuts on either side of a threaded "screw" that adjust the cable's positition. Check that the threaded screw that houses the cable is secured between these two nuts. Tighten if necessary.

The nuts that adjust the cable's position are secure and the cruise control cable is at the proper tension. I'm refering to the half moon piece of metal that attaches to the throttle body and holds/guides the cruise control cable. This half moon piece is loose. I can wiggle it back and forth, toward and away from the throtte body.

There is a nut that should keep that piece tight. Other than that, there is no other contact with the throttle. If the nut is gone, find a replacement and use loc-tite on the threads. That would be the only reason for a loose piece...??? Perhaps you should check (if the nut IS there) for proper tightening.

Thanks for your thoughts. There is a nut on the end that appears to secure the cruise control half moon and the accelerator half moon to the throttle body. But I tried to tighten it down and it just spins and doesn't tighten. Maybe I need to secure a bolt that the nut is on from inside the throttle body and then try and tighten the nut, but I'm weary because I read something on one of the other posts that you shouldn't mess with this nut.

Has anyone else had this problem?
