The aftermarket tint on my rear windshield is starting to bubble. The front and rear sides are fine. Is this normal? I'd say it's about 4 years since the tint job. Is it because it's a bad quality film?

If you had it professionally done, take it back. Usually there is a lifetime warranty. If you want, you can just take a blade and cut a line into the bubble, then press the air out through the cut.

TInt bubbles

WEll when i got my tint first done there were a few bubbles here and there and the tinter merely used a creditcard to push them out...i did it also when i found more

just simply (if they are small) use credit card and push bubble to outer surfaces of tint by holding card at angle and pushing it to outsides...

i dont know if this works on four year old tint so dont hold me responsible

The problem is his tints are 4 years old and the water between the windshield and the tint has evaporated. It would be impossible to try to get the air out toward the edges of the glass. When you use the blade to cut the bubble, you won't even see the cut unless you really try.

Thanks Roman-Dude. I think its time to start sporting some real ride other than my own. Mine is, as Daniel Martin say, "Plain Jane".

You can also poking it with a needle. That should be even less noticable

I'll try the blade/needle technique you guys suggested. I think I'll probably still need to bring it in. I'm getting more than just a few bubbles now.

this should read "You can also try poking it with a needle", but I guess you all got it.

Sorry

i had the same problem, i got my tint done a few weeks ago and there were small bubbles.. i noticed these the day after and was planning to take the car back to the shop. a few days later when i did have time to take it back, i noticed that they were all gone.. dunno what happened, but about 4 days after i noticed, the bubbles were gone.
