Yes, my valve cover is the same color. As far as how many coats, I don't remember exactly, but A LOT. I haven't install it yet. I want to make sure it's perfectly dried before putting it back on.

Yes, I'm going to leave the Stillen red. You can easily mess it up if you're not careful. I would like to have the Stillen match up with the rings, but I rather not make a mistake.

No, it's not a sticker. Stillen is engraved onto the bar and painted red. If it's just a sticker, I rather remove it all together.

Nah...I guarantee that I'll mess that up if I try to paint it with a brush. Then, I probably have to paint the whole thing blue.

Hey man, it looks hot ! What kind of paint did you use and how many coats did you put on, because im planning on painting mine red, to match my valve cover and CAI. You took them off the FSTB to paint them too right ?

I think you could do it without too much trouble...
Mask it a little, spray the blue
and when it's dry sand it lightly with a sanding block
[or just wrap a piece of wood w/ sandpaper - you want a firm, flat surface].
Since the letters are engraved the paint would stay in the engraved "depressions"
- but any overspray would come off.
I suggest a little masking just so there's less sanding to do after.

Yes, you have to take off the fstb. Couldn't you tell, the fstb is on the floor. I actually took off the rings and screws too. So, it will make it easier to just paint the rings.

Make sure you have plenty of coats of paint. Also, use high temperature paint because it gets quite hot in the engine bay. Allow time for the paint to be completely dry before putting the fstb back on. I made the mistake trying to put the fstb back on after a few hours. Thus, I left some finger imprints, even though it's very light finger prints, I had to repaint it. Although, this wasn't necessary bad because I could use the time to put on extra coats of paint to ensure the paint won't come off.
