hope insurance will cover it though. i see that you dont have the cf lip on the car. but by the looks of it you will need hood, grill maybe lights, and probably the radiator support as well.

BTW, doesn't look that bad. New hood, grill and maybe bumper. How did the fenders hold up?

i'm sorry to see that. but try to be optimistic and just look at it this way, it could have been much worse. here's what happened when someone turned left in front of me without yielding

yeah its all my fault.. all on my insurance.. and on top of that the cop wrote me a ticket.. for exhibition of speed in a construction zone.. i was highly pissed off.. oh yeah.. and the whole reason for the whole incident was a car four cars in front of the one i hit.. had stopped.. for no reason.. and then didnt even stay afterwards.. luckily the car i hit didnt hit anything in front of her so.. i only have to pay for hers.. it was a sad day.. i really hope they dont total it..

Sorry to hear - after almost rear ending someone on the highway last year (lucky that my crappy brakes stopped the car in time) I started leaving more distance

Just be glad the air bags didn;t go off... Lady pulled out in front of me two weeks after i got my first maxima and it didn;t look much worse than yours but the airbags went off and that was instant total. That was her fault though so her insurance paid for it.

abs > me
I definitely agree with the "abs > me". My 98 SE 5Spd I picked up 2 months ago is the first car I have ever driven without ABS (I am only 19 years old). The other day I was doing 15 over because I was rushing to pick up my older brother. I saw a cop on the other side and did what I normally do, SLAM THE BRAKES. I was in 5th and I have never seen the RPMs slam down so fast before. I was thinking to myself, "If this was a panic situation I would have locked the brakes and slid into the person in front of me". Now my car scares the **** out of me. My 95 GLE has ABS and I can't count the amount of times I just pounded the brakes and stopped or avoided an accident. I have been lucky so far to not have any close encounters with my 98.

abs or no abs it all relies on the driver.

I thought ABS only helps you maintain directional control if you're skidding, not stop faster. Correct?

Yep, ABS needs a lil more room to stop compared to non-ABS, but maintaining control is great if you have a chance to avoid something rather than having the brakes lock (plus its great in the winter and on your tires)

Sad to say but it will more than likely be filed as your fault. Anyone can slam on their brakes for what ever reason, the vehicles behind should be at a safe enough distance that they could brake incase of anything.

WE all know that sometimes its not our fault but thats how most insurance places view it.

As for your damage it wont be as bad as it looks. I'm surprised the CF Hood held up that well. Cefrios look undamaged.

Every accident that's been reported in this forum is caused by a woman. They should all be driving a grocery cart instead.

Sorry about your accident man. Not trying to bust your chops but try to keep a good distance between you and the car infront of yours at all times. Especially now when outside temps are extremely hot, the brake pads in your car tend to fail a lot faster, unless you have a BBK, slotted/x-drilled rotors, and kevlar pads.

ABS doesnt stop faster on dry pavement because the coefficient of static friction of rubber on concrete is 1.0 and kinectic friction is .9. Not much difference.

BTW whats your following distance? Its not surprising that you're faulted, its always your fault when your rear end someone...
