Cruise Control 96 SE

I was on the interstate this weekend and tried to use my cruise control (it always worked before). The main switch on lower dash shows engagement (green light) but no engagement lights on instruments before or after stalk "resume" button engaged ("cancel" and "resume" and main control tried several times...no cruise control!! I could not find a fuse in the interior fuse box or engine bay fusible boxes marked for cruise control. Am I looking right at it and not seeing it?? I think that's all that's wrong/or at least where I need to start but "where it be at" Please direct my tired Ole eyes, Thanks!!

The fuse in the engine bay for the cruise control is labeled ASCD...it's located in the fuse box infront of the battery I believe. Also...read this link...your problem might actually be a bad speedometer head...

Thank You!! I'll check "ASCD" fuse tonight! I really can't believe that speedo head has to changed automatically if cruise control doesn't engage...maybe an issue if gauge cluster/speedo component changed or extremely high mileage but not at 106K. Again, thanks and I will check, (also check throttle wire/hose connections) post back if that's not it. Doug

Does your horn work? If not your problem would be the clock spring.

No codes, horn works, no blown fuses, all connections at vacuum unit, all cables operate properly and brake lights work(switch operates)... but no Cruise Control. I think I'll try to test continuity for fusible "ASCD" link beside battery and at "resume/set/cancel/accel" unit for the steering wheel. This is wierd!! From the postings; I guess I am NOT alone!!!
