I just did a complete install of Blaupunkt head unit and in-dash changer, Pioneer speakers all around and a Mobile authority Amp. Problem is the inline fuse right after the battery blew after a week of use. Now if I put a new fuse in it blows immediately. I checked all my connections and wires and made sure there was no short anywhere. I'm thinking I might not be getting a good ground. The amp is under the passenger seat and is grounded directly to the metal floorboards. Is there a better place to attach the ground wire? Also, does anyone know if I'm using the right size fuse. I am using a 30 Amp because the head unit is 25x4 RMS and 40x4 Peak and the amp is 40x4 RMS and 75x4 Peak. That adds upto 260 RMS and 460 Peak. I figured 30 would be safe. Thanks for any help in advance.

A fuse blows when the current drawn through it exceeds the fuse rating. This results from a short circuit or a load device with an excessive power demand.

A bad ground results in an open circuit. The load device will not work. The fuse will not blow.

Ok, so you don't think it's the ground connection. That makes sense since it was working for a week and I didn't change anything. So I must have a short somewhere that I haven't found yet or there is a problem with the amp.?
