Meineke... or Cattman?

Meineke... or Cattman?
I am in bad need of exhaust work soon. Meineke is quoting me between $700-$1000 for a full header-to-tailpipe custom exhaust, which happens to be less than the parts sold by Cattman ($1125). The question is, which will serve me better? The main concern in my mind is that I know Cattman removes a pre-cat on CA-spec exhausts, which is meant to improve performance (does it). I suspect Meineke wouldn't do that.
Maybe the better question is- when is an exhaust an exhaust once you drop the OEM? Anyone have a Meineke system by chance? Can anyone speak to a performance/sound difference?

Brass or gold?
I can bet the Meineke wont fit right or will rattle. The cattman is like replacing batteries in a electronic device, you take out the old put in the new easy as cake.
But it would also depend on how long you gonna keep the car. If you gonna get rid of it go to another shop and have them build you another exhaust system for about $300. i dont think that includes a cat.
