Tips for removing a stuck caliper pin?

I just replaced my driver side rear caliper and both rear sets of pads. Upon putting it all back together and taking it for a test run, I noticed that the OTHER side is now dragging, as indicated by the cloud of smoke and terrible smell. So, I took the passenger rear apart and found that one of the pins that the caliper slides on is frozen. I tried to remove it to regrease it and I absolutely can't get the thing to budge.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can remove it? Would PB-Blaster/WD40 help or even be safe for that matter? I don't have any air or impact tools so I'm hoping there will be some magic move to break the thing free.

you can try pb blaster or the like. slowly try to break the pin free, when/if it breaks free rock it back & forth gradually increasing the turn. once out try to clean as much corrosion out of the caliper and use synthetic caliper lube on the pin and in the hole. if all fails get a reman caliper, put plenty of lube and call it a day.

goto advanced autoparts online store buy a new mount and pins. i forget the name of the mount (in the maxima manual it says torque member - but its what holds the caliper and has the pins in it).

thats what i did because they wouldnt budge and i didnt want to keep the car with rust in the brakes... to importaint for me to live.

many people put this in a vice grip and use some rust remover stuff and bang at it (without bending it. then cleaning it out as much as possible.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to just get a new bracket and pins. I tried heating it up, and then later PB Blaster and still can't get that stubborn pin to move at all. I just got quoted a very low price on a replacement so I'll save myself some more scrapes and aggravation.
