Help please!

Okay so I got in my car and went into reverse and as i switched to drive the car just died. I had to put it in park and restart the car! Any ideas why this happened?? I know the radiators bad but that doesnt really have anything to do with this right? Could it be the battery? Its a '96 se by the way

Idle Air Control Valve could be malfunctioning or dirty (likely), or the base idle adjustment could possibly be off. Service manual is your friend.

I don't know much about maximas yet but had the same problem with 96 G20 - turned out to be a clogged Idle Air Control Valve.

This is going to sound random, but mine will stall if my power steering fluid is low, when switching from R to D... and my best friends Acura will not let him shift out of park if the power steering fluid is low, so give that a check!
