gas overflow

gas overflow

i was filling up my gas tank and it didnt stop automaticly. it was spraying out from the pump and from the charcol canister. let it sit and nothing seems to be leaking anymore. is that a bad thing is something broke.

It should be ok. Don't do it all the time though. I hate gas pumps that don't stop automatically or that keep stopping every two seconds.

nothing wrong with your car - it's the pump that should be fixed - find another station. If it happens in CA I'd suggest just to whisper "EPA" into pump owner's ear - and then politely ask for a refund for a spilled gas, car detailing, 4 new tires and compensation for at least 12 month of lost wages plus paid therapy to overcome the shock of seeing this gas spilling all over the place...

Did you have to clean up your spill. Some stations leave it to the customers to clean up after spills.

I think there is nothing to do with your car. Somthing wrong with the pump.

Just a bad pump. Sometimes I get ones that don't wanna stay latched or even pump gas when you hold the lever down, it just keeps stopping.
