Need inspection sticker

Wassup people,

I got pulled over today at a road check and they found out my car has a fake inspection sticker ... the cop was really nice, instead of giving me a fake document ticket which entails $500 fine plus 10 days in jail, he gave me a no inspection ticket .... So I need to find a place that will give me an inspection sticker for a good price. My car won't pass inspection because of Megan cat-back and a 2 codes. EGR solenoid, and EGR valve sensor or something ...

Thank You

No. And the Salem NJ location is one of the locations under serious review right now so his friend needs to watch.

They'll fail you because of a catback? I always pass inspection at the inspection station with Apexi N1 dual exhaust on my '94 rx7 and there's no way that looks or sounds stock. I've just assumed that as long as you have the main cat on you'll be fine. Just fix the codes.

If you clear the codes, do they come back right away? I've had a knock sensor and egr code for a while and just prior to my inspection in January of this year, I cleared the codes, passed inpection and then the codes were back the next day or so, but they disappeared long enough for me to pass.

Hell i can tell ya from here it doesnt even SMELL stock haha. The N1's are loud as hell on the weedwacker mobiles. It's the same setup we had on the 93 FD.

Take care of her, they really are some amazing cars arent they =] ?

Lots of things. They cannot fail you simply for having a catback. If it passes the emissions/DB test and they look under and see a cat your fine.

In Connecticut, I got pulled over for tints and the cop hit me for my GReddy SP2 also. At inspection all he did was listen to the exhaust. He told me to give it some juice, I put it to 2.5k and back down real quick. He was almost going to not pass me but said it was "alright". So in Connecticut, I guess they only listen to the exhaust.

I think as long as your car is safe to drive, you'll pass. Just clear the codes right before you go in for the inspection and once you pass. Fix the problems.

one way to do it...find a place in your area (IF you have any) that doesnt require inspections, and pcik an addy in that area, say you live there and get what they provide you there, sure your lisence plate will have to be changed also though. Thats what some people do down here in GA, I personally dont tho, I have no reason to.

Ok I did the research and P0446 translates to 0903 which is for EVAP Canister vent control valve. And P1400 translates to 1005 which is for EGRC solenoid valve. In all honesty I don't know what those parts look like. Is it possible for me to fix them myself? Thank you

The EVAP Canister VCV is not hard to change yourself. I changed mine two years ago. If you have a chilton/haynes manual it should be pretty easy. I don't know about the EGRC solenoid valve though. First change the VCV and see if it gets rid of both of the codes. If not then change the EGRC solenoid valve.

They might be legit right this second, but i gurantee they wont be soon enough. You should really do it right, more so on those used for a business.

Any Idea on where the EVAP Canister VCV is located? Thank You

try your local dealer or there's a few online sites with decent parts prices, I'm sure someone knows their web addresses.

I changed my evap canister a while back, was easy to do, with a lowered car, you might need ramps to help you get to the part, just behind the rear wheel. I did mine when I wasn't lowered and did it lying on the ground.

Did you try resetting the ecu? if that gets rid of your CEL, at least for a day or so, that'll buy you time to take it back in and pass.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe there was a TSB for the EVAP and EGR for 96 maxima's. I have a 96SE and had it done a while back if i remember correctly. Even though it's WAYYY out of warranty, the dealer still did it. Don't know if there is a certian cut off point for TSB's.
