Stillen sloted rotors w/ mtl matrix pads?

Stillen is running that sale, buy rotors and get a set of mtl matrix pads. Are they a decent brake combo? I'm going to need new rotors and pads eventually figure I might as well get something slightly better than OEM.

Well might as well go for it and see how it works. If the pads squel then use some stuff to dampen it. Also can just switch pads if they are that bad when you install them. How much is the deal?

i ran the same set up and a very good improvement in stopping ability over stock. the rotors didnt last long though, i split the holes on the rotors. the pads felt and stopped good for a while then its they started to squeal towards the end of its life so i'll give them a 9 out of 10

My bro had this setup in his 5th gen before doing a Z brake. No complaints; no raves either. rotors didn't crack, no squeel either. You do hear some noise that sounds like the pads going across the holes tho. Passengers won't notice unless u point it out to them.

I had those pads with Stillen cross drilled rotors and didn't like them because they didn't bite if the brakes were cold....made for a scary trip down the driveway every morning. Once they warmed up, they were fine. They might have a better compound now, but I eventually went to Porterfields and they were much better. I'm now back to stock rotors and pads since I didn't like all the noise associated with the cross drilled rotors.

I still have the stillen rotors on my 95 Max and have lasted more than 2 years. Although I did cut the rotors once and the metal matrix pads I thought were great, really good stopping power. Despite what some people may say the rotors can be cut and allow for more life the dealership that I used to work at still does all my work and their rotor cutting machine (brake lay) works for crossdrilled rotors. Not sure the name but I can get it for you guys if you would like...just a note of information the rotors I got from Stillen that are on my car now did say Brembo on them..I believe that Stillen gets their rotors from Brembo but I could be mistaken, maybe something to ask the sales rep you talk to. Good Luck

So I guess its cheaper to buy the brembo's from the group deal and buy pads seperatly?

the reason its cheaper for me is, they sometimes stock the rotors in a performance shop i buy from. plus i dont have to pay shipping fees from ca-ny
and have to wait a week to get them.
