Unorthodox Flywheel Opinions?

About to order the unorthodox flywheel and the act street clutch with the extreme pressure plate. Anyone have this combo or just the flywheel, looking for opinions on power improvement and drivability and places to purchase from. Got a couple places in mind, found the flywheel for $429(auto accessory superstore) and the clutch for $431(nippon power).

Again thanks in advance guys!

The Fidanza is actrually a really good flyhweel, the only difference is that its just a tad bit heavier then the UR flywheel. With the UR flywheel you will have to use your OEM outer ring gear...

I have the Stillen Flywheel which is the same as the UR flyhweel paired with an Exedy Stage 1.
Both are good flywheels, I would have gotten the Fidanza but I got a really good deal on the Stillen one so I bought it instead.

stillen has a good aluminum flywheel and organic clutch thats what i had. the clutch felt like stock but it gripped real sweet and reacted with the lightest touch.

With the stillen, you have to take apart your stock flywheel so you can mate the starter starter ring and timing ring to it.

Regardless of what your friend said, the fidanza is not ****... probably the best flywheel out there. No need to take your old flywheel apart either. Just unbolt the timing ring off the old one and bolt it to the fidanza and you're ready to roll.

Same deal with the UR Flywheel, which is what I stated earlier about the Fidanza not needing this to be done.

Ok I am sort of going to throw my 2cents into the pot... Fidanza is nice, very easy install just like any other flywheel. You do have to switch over the timing ring..however it does weigh more than the Unorthodox even with the timing ring attached. So you will loose some performance, but we are talking maybe 1 HP and/or 1ftlb of torque. Its negligable. As far as the Unorthodox one, I have that one and its nice too. Switching the timing ring is easy, only takes like 5 minutes, especally with air tools. I have done a few of these and they are really easy.... any other questions please feel free to ask...

yeah I have heard of a few guys in the subie and 350z world having issues with the fidanza, acutally one of the guys at stillen said he had three of them in the same car, and they are junk. He said its work the few bucks to just get the Unorthodox one.

um...

1. jack or lift car
2. take off wheels
3. remove castle nuts on end of axles..
4. remove bolts holding suspension to hub
5. drain tranny fluid
6. pull drive and passenger axle
7. pull starter and transmission
8. remove clutch and flywheel
9 replace with new parts
10 reasemble in opposite order

dont really know, he said it was for his STI so I dont think stillen makes one for that car and hence why he used fidanza but he said he has the Unorthodox one now and loves it

Timing ring must definately be added to the Fidanza. The Fidanza does come with its own starter ring though... maybe that is where some of the confusion is. There was a guy about a year ago that did a 5spd swap and used a Fidanza with out putting a timing ring on it and the car would not start. He had to take everything back apart just to add the timing ring.

oh ok that makes sense, and why people might be confused. Damn that sucks for that dud cause I know how much of a pain it is to have to take off al that crap just to get to the clutch and flywheel...
