Very hard shift, Somethings it takes a 2nd time to shift

I checked my ATF yestaday and it looks like its over filled/reddish color and doesnt smell brunt...But my tranny has a very hard(well not exactly a hard time just the rpms shoot up and rev longer than they should then shift fine) time shifting into 3rd(45mph)Shifts fine here and there So my question is the problem is prolly with the tranny itself? Can it be electric? Also do Overdrive have to do with anything?

Could just be sticky soloniods. Pull the solonoid & valve body down and clean it up. Check the screen on the pump, clean out the pan magnets, reinstall everything and fill it up with fresh fluid.

yeah, take out the oil pan and the solonoids should just pull out. I would even change them, but that's just me

Thats what i need, I found that on another topic?

What do i use to clean them?/How much would it cost to replace them?

Also would Auto-RX or Trans-X create more problems or stop the problems?

REMOVE DAIN PLUG AND DRAIN ATF
REMOVE OIL PAN (19 Bolts)
EXAMINE PARTICLES IN PAN - Remove the magnets and use them to collect steel particles.
REMOVE OIL STRAINER - Separate the solenoid wire, Remove the 4 bolts, oil strainer and 3 gaskets. Clean Strainer
INSTALL OIL STRAINER - Install 3 new gaskets. Install the oil strainer with the 4 bolts. Clamp solenoid wire.
INSTALL OIL PAN - Install the 4 magnets in the indications of the oil pan. Apply FIPG to the oil pan. Install the 19 bolts and oil pan.
