error code 0605-misfire in cyl 4
error code 0605-misfire in cyl 4
While pulling out of my subdivision yesterday my car stumbled pretty heavily and then the check engine light came on but I was able to limp it home. I ran the code today and got 0605. I compared the ignition coil resistance between cyl #4 and #6 and they were both the same so I swapped the coils and reset the ECU. I fired up the car and I got the same error code, 0605. Anyone have any ideas as to whats wrong with it???
Thanks
Mike

Ok, no code so far
Actually I think I wasnt resetting the ecu properly which resulted in me getting the same code. I figured out how to reset it and I replaced the plug with a spare one that I had lying around. I also swapped the #4 and #6 coil again and so far so good. It pulls pretty hard also.. Thanks for your help!!

As seanish4042 suggested, more than likely it's the injector. The good news is since it's Cylinder #4 you can access the connector for the injector easily. Should read something like 500k ohms.
I too just replaced an injector. Didn't want to pay the dealer the $700 they wanted to do the job.
I think you can easily access the fuel rail for cyls 2,4 & 6 because they're not under the intake plenum. Depressurize the fuel system and I think you could be able to disconnect the fuel line from the rail so that you can lift the fuel rail up enough to push/knock out the bad injector if that's the culprit.
Good Luck.

i had a similar problem, but i had a missfire in cylinder 5, i over thought the simplist thing to check, the plug. Turned out my plugs may have not been changed since my 96k service which was about 200,000kms ago. the gap on my plug was about 1/2 an inch...no wonder it was missing like a ****.
