Installed Place CAI and awaiting Cattman Catback
I have heard that many people had a hard time installing their Place Racing induction system. As did I. But, alignment and fitment were not the problem. Cutting a hole that close to the wire harness with a dremel (needs to be perpendicular to the surface) was the problem. Started at 8:00 pm finished at 1am. Test drove at 2:30 (had to disassemble some parts because I dropped my O ring).
Test Drive:
Noticibale power in the midrange to top end. Great growl after 3K RPM. On my first and last run I managed to disenegrate my resonator pipe. So bye bye torque and hello sounds of a 9 sec funny car.
I will be installing my catback today. I just received it after DHL screwed up the address twice.

I installed my PRCAI in about an hour, sounds like you just had a certain problem with this for some reason. I did mine with a dremel which took about 30 mins cause I kept breaking discs and the other 30 mins was from removing everything and opening the fender well and all that. my friends with did a holesaw which took not even a minute and about 20 mins to install.
It took me forever to remove to connector's plastoc clips going into the fender wall from the fuse box. I tried to clear I felt I needed to get them out of the way. CUtting took me forever, but as I said, I used a Dremel but I only went through half a disc. I have a tendency to perfect things too. I sat there an looked at it for about 45 minutes trying. Also I'd ogle at how much space I freed up. LOL
Well tonight. I install the cattman catback. I can get the cat flange off!

I got everything installed. Only one bolt stripped. After 45 minutes of banging with a hammer I was able to bend the muffler's connecting flange and pull the hole thing out by the back rear tire.
Needless to say, I got it on. Place CAI + Cattman = AWESOME. An ECU is my next move. I must say. My car is faster...and this is coming from someone who is self-proclaimed technical and analytical. I should get a Gtech to see some real numbers.
Just curious...can anyone else get to 60 in second gear without the ECU.
A serious thumbs up for this setup. It sounds super quiet until you get on the throttle.
Happy Driving...because I am VERY happy driving!
