poll: at what RPMs do you shift
My car is a daily driver. With open road ahead of me, I shift at 3-4k when I'm accelerating. When I'm at cruise, I shift to keep my rpms between 1.5-2k. I never cruise above 2k if I can avoid it, highway driving being the obvious exception.

95% of the time it's 3300, full throttle, every gear. I drive a little on the agressive side and I love feeling that pull at 3200 and then shifting out right after. I shift at redline about 4-5 times a week, every on-ramp.
Normal operation:
First to Second: 3200
Second to Third: 2700
Third to Fourth: 2500
Fourth to fifth: whenever I am done accelerating, or at 55mph
I average between 26-28mpg doing this on 30 city/70 high way. Just feels natural.
Performance driving:
Honestly, Ive only gotten on it a few times. But to about 5500rpm

From a standstill I Redline and pull out with 5th gear to save gas. I don't need to shift after that.
I acclerate until I hit what I am told is a "rev limiter" and then change to the next gear, that's why it's there!
^^^ Even thought I am kidding, how much does everyone love those ricers that hold 1st EVERYWHERE, neighborhoods, parking lots it's all fair game. Their cars sound like they should be hitting triple digits and they are bucking back and forth at 9 miles an hour! Priceless.

i shift 2000-2500 normal city driving, but it's easy to stay in that range in chicago traffic.
i'll take it up higher if i need to accelerate or pass someone. who the heck shifts below 1500? i mean, our cars have a good amount of tq, but still.

In the A32 I shift @ 2000 around town. 6450 when running it hard. I'm in need of JWT chip and good tune to get that 7200 grand redline.
In my EK H22 hatch I shift @ 3000 around town. 9200 when running it hard. (JUN chip)

4k seems kinda like the natural shift point

just around 6000 rpm almost all the time??
