Throw Out Bearing just destroyed my whole clutch Assy.

Well... i just had my car looked at due to having no pressure in the peddle and making some bad noises under the hood after pulling into my driveway last week, and just found out that my TO bearing shattered and cause some heavy damage. I'm looking at having to get a master cylinder, slave cylinder, clutch, and possibly fork.

This is going to be some serious money, and needless to say i'm pretty bummed. Who said 5spd's rule.....

I'm prolly going to end up ordering parts on my own to try and cut down on cost. I'm thinking of doing a 5th gen clutch setup but we'll see.

I just want my max back...

I don't see how a master and slave cylinder would fail because of a throw out bearing. Even the fork is a little sketchy. if the throw out bearing fails, it will normally take out the pressure plate with it and bruise up the clutch at worst when it shatters.

The master and slave cylinder work completely off hydraulics and seals. A failed throw out bearing causing it to fail...ehh...I dont think so. Now the fork, maybe about a 5% chance that it actually suffered any damage.

Me thinks your mechanic is trying to obtain a pretty penny.

Def. check your mechanic's head. If you can, ask what EXACTLY leads him to believe that all that needs to be replaced, and post it up here.

I had a exedy stage 1 clutch setup.

Yeah, now thinking about it, i don't see how the master would be effected. But he still has to take it apart and check it out more closely, it was just his guess. But i was having problems with clutch pressure before so i might as well just do the whole thing, i want this problem fixed for sure. I'm sick of dealing with the damned clutch....

We'll see what he see's when he drops the tranny tomorrow...
