Front caliper pin bolts...

Just dropping a note here, in case anyone cares:

DO NOT OVER-TORQUE THESE BOLTS. According to the FSM, the torque spec is 22-31 lb-ft, which is plenty. I snapped one of mine yesterday and nearly snapped the other three with 40-45 lb-ft, which I was using because I was somehow far too awesome to check the FSM first.

I replaced the broken/breaking ones with M8 1.0 20mm bolts from AutoZone.

Are you talking about the caliper mounting bolts? One part of the caliper slides on pins that you lube.

I'm talking about the bolts that go through caliper into the sliding pins.

Well, I appreciate your honsety haha. I am planning to go through my brakes this weekend, I'll make sure not to over tighten them. But if I do, I know the bolt size

i never had used a torque rench before, but then one day i found out they were seized in there - and couldnt remove them. so i had to get all new hardware. then i torqued them to spec, but even then, i would say i didnt need too. just dont be to hot with the wrench and dont do what so many un experianced people do (over tighten parts that dont need to be).

Yeah, those bolts are real soft and the small amount of stress put on them will make them snap and break. I broke one while trying to loosen while I was changing my rear pads last week. I have a torque wrench, and I tightened them almost 10 ft-lbs less than required. Don't want to go thru this again while changing my brakes. I ended up buying a set of four bolts from the dealer for backup spares.

aren't you supposed to change those and the sliders when you change brake pads anyway?

No, there's no need to unless they are completely shot and unusable.

could just buy a brake hardware kit from NAPA or your local auto parts store for like $10 or so.....have that bolt you are talking about, the sliding bolt that those bolts fasten to that attaches and slides on the brackets, a few other stuff (can't quite remember), and I believe they also have new metal clips that your brake pads attach/slide on

Just clean them up nice with a wirewheel and grease them (a bit, don't want to attract too much dirt) a bit before you put them in
