I recently had to take out my airbox and MAF to replace my starter. When I replaced everything, I got a CEL with a code 0401 which is the intake temp sensor. I checked my Haynes manual and the illustration shows where the sensor is supposed to be (on the side of the upper airbox) but when I go look under my hood, the sensor isn't there and never has been.

Now I'm stumped. Is there an alternate spot for this sensor? Has anyone else ever had this problem?

The sensor is on the lower intake pipe on the bend just before where it connects to your air filter box.
