HELP! Vacuum Cut Valve Bypass Valve, i need some help

Ok this is the deal, my engine light was on, I checked it, came up with a 0801 which is the VCVBV(Vacuum Cut Valve Bypass Valve), so I pulled the bracket off of the car, noticed that someone had siliconed one of the nipples with the hose onto the valve, I tested the solonoid valve and it's fine. I replaced the valve today, checked all harnesses in the area, and the engine light is still showing the same code(yes I reset it, twice). As well it shows a 0903 which is the EVAP Canister vent control valve, I can only assume that the problem is interrelated because they are attatched(i think). I hope someone has done this before and can give me some kind of idea about it, It's REALLY starting to **** me off and I need help.
Thanks,
Matt

Did you test for a vacuum leak?

No, how do I? Just an added note, the bracket that holds the solonoid and valve in place is broken off, so I'm not sure if the vibration may be causing the sensor to trigger the engine light, just wanted to point that out.
