For maximas, non-bose to bose, how complicated?

the new pathfinders and xterras have sick a$$ bose systems that sound great... Id like to get my hands on one of these systems maybe from a wrecked one, If I can get the bose system, how hard is to swap into a nonbose max... rewiring involved?

thanks 4 any help

I would just go with aftermarket, it would sound much better than bose, from the bose wiring in my car, I think it would be a nightmare trying to wire bose in.

i have bose in my car and would not recommend putting bose in because it is a pain if you want to put your own head unit in or subs or what have you, as for putting the bose i do not believe it would be any harder than putting in any other speakers, its just that the bose have amplifiers in each speaker so you would want the bose head unit that came with it but you can use others for instance mine is an alpine but is louder than what it was with the bose head unit

i would rather go with another alt brand than bother taking a sound system out of a new car. wiring would probably be more complicated but im sure its possible.

If you are getting Bose system for cheap, go for it, System from 2000+ car's sounds nice.

As for effort, its prettymuch building audio from scratch,if possible talk to crutchfield or local audio store, may be they can provide with a readymade connector otherwise wiring would be pain. make sure you don't connect power directly (go thru ignition switch) otherwise it will drain you battery soon.

i hope you're not thinking about your max with the components. They sound better than any bose system BAR NONE.

Bose = paying for the name, not so much quality.

I would suggest you lose that idea. Wiring in a bose into a non-bose is a pita first of all, but 2ndly you'd be trying to retro fit a bose from a diffferent car with different acoustics. It won't sound the same in your Maxima. Blose sucks, don't do it.

you have no idea what you are trying to get into. The Bose speakers are crazy expensive thru stealership. Dont do it. Get Boston speakers.

You know how many different boston speakers there are? Thats **** advice.

Aftermarket is the way to go unless you want to rip you're whole car apart, replace wiring, add wiring, modify mounting locations for the bose speakers, etc. etc. etc.

I'm gonna have to go along w/the majority here... You're basing your judgement on the fact that the newer bose system's are loud? Do you realise how much louder and clearer you can get spending the same on aftermarket? No comparision!

I'm not sure who mentioned this before but they were right, the blose system's have an EQ and reverb and blah blah to acoustically tailor their horrible sound into a specific vehicle. This means it will sound even worse in a different car.

Oh, and Boston Accoustics makes fan-frickin-tasic speakers!
