is this safe??
is this safe??
my friend decided he wanted blue bulbs in the door sills of his prelude. He went to the local auto shops and no one has these tinted 194/161/etc bulbs in stock. So genius here decides to color his current ones with a blue sharpie marker......(honda owners im tellin ya). He colored the bulb but not the flat connection area. It is indeed blue, but is that safe?? I know these bulbs dont normally stay on too long but could the bulb melt? burn up?
it is safe... like 97blackSEgold mentionned, eventually, it will "burn" off..
being a previous honda owner as well,
, I sprayed my 194 bulbs red ( too cheap to buy realred 194 bulbs), it was good, but eventually the "paint" simply crackled off( this was for my license plate lights, so they are lit up longer then the door lights)...
but overall, yeah, nothing wrong with colouring the bulbs

yea these ones r OK for now but not as bright as the LEDs will be. im thinking blue led in the doors and white led in the cabin/private lights if i can find those bulbs in led.
the doors are 162's, but pretty much all 162, 164, etc can be substituded with 194's safely. The cabin lights are odd looking, i gotta grab my cds from my car anyway ill pop the ocver real fast n grab the #
