I got the y-pipe yesterday...it looks great and if u guys get the highflow cat, they have the magnaflow one. I think Lyell modifies it, but not sure. Eitherway, it came in and is now in my garage

a bit OT but I have a question or two.
My SS pipes flex section pretty much rotted away, only the accordion is left. What is the warranty on the pipe? Bought mine in april of 2003. Can I get a replacement flex?

second question. I noticed that the pipe wasn't 2.5" all through, the accordion actually looks around 2". Are the new pipes of the same design or did you guys use the newer straight through, no accordion, triple ply flex?

Oh, and I've loved the y-pipe since the day I got it...

Hey Jody I'll call on Monday again, but in case you read this beforehand, I checked the shipping progress of my Y-pipe and it said it's being shipped to RandRock, TX but I live in Round Rock, TX (I don't even think RandRock exists). I'm hoping that with the street address/zip they can figure out where it's really supposed to go, but just in case could you call me or shoot me an e-mail thegad@gmail.com? Thanks

Just got the pipe!! That shipping is FAST, ordered on tuesday at like 2:30pm and just got the pipe on friday. One question i have, is everything included that i need to install the pipe? I see the crush rings and gasket is included, but is the test pipe supposed to have a plug for an o2 sensor?

Received the y&b pipes and fstb today. It looks fine, but the b-pipe isn't
polished just the resonator. It came with a plug for the test pipe, rings,
gaskets, 2 nuts, 7 washers, & 1 bolt! The FSTB Jody sent me is not the one they advertise. It looks like some cheap **** from e-gay, so I will call her Mon. morning to send it back and ask why the b-pipe isn't polished.

Hi,

Bought the Bydget y-pipe, b-pipe and had them installed today. After installation I drove home and then noticed that there was a high pitched rattling noise, like small stones in a tin can. Seems to be coming from the front half of the car, perhaps the flex area of the exhaust? Anyone else experience this? Is there a reasonable fix?

It could be the inside of your catalytic converter falling apart.
I'm installing mine tomorrow, so I'll see if I have the same problem.

I'll post with the results.

I'm interested to hear your results. The cat converter was inspected and found to be quite good, i.e. not plugged or damaged otherwise. Let us know your results.

I also had a universal cat, the shop sut the cat off, removed the studded bolts (heat and vise grips) and then installed new bolts and the cat is back in business.

Time for some explanation on my noise I reported. I jacked up the car and had a look to see what was causing the noise I reported earlier. It turned out to be: a loose plug. Apparently the resonator pipe came with an extra oxygen sensor port. The shop plugged the port, but the threaded plug came loose. Once loose it would make noise. I took out the plug and put some thread lock on the threads and all seems fine again. Sorry if I mislead anyone with my earlier post. Now the system is quiet and stealthy as it should be.

Later and good riding.

It's great to see you guys on here, as your parts have been popular with Maxima enthusiasts for sometime. That said, you do need to be a sponsor of this forum if you want to offer products for sale through the forum. You should contact Sprint or one of the admins for that.

I was hoping to have it before sunday's autoX, but if it's not likely to happen, I'll hold off for a week.

Jody,

Could you give me the length of resonator on the B-pipe? What kind of design is it (straight through, glass-pack)?

I would like to know whether you will include gaskets for the B-pipe.

I am in the market for a new exhaust and would be willing to wait till September to purchase mine.

I have a Q, if the Test Pipe only gives you 1hp gains, then why remove the cat, and pollute the environment for 1hp?

Ps- My Bday is Sept 10th. I might be able to scrounge some $ for that Ypipe sale, still gonna be up then Jody?

I noticed that my car has bees in a can sound when i let off the gas after the car is above 4k rpm, its quite annoying, anybody know how to fix this? I can tell its coming from the flex section of the pipe. Will putting exhaust tape on the flex fix the noise and not make the pipe rust? Installed last week, didnt notice till today cause my whole exhaust was a work in progress.BTW i love the pipe, just a little issue im having.
