I drove to Budget on Saturday and they installed the stainless steel Y and B pipes as well as an OEM muffler. The old B-pipe had corroded away from the muffler and was very loud, so it was time to replace the exhaust system.

The guys at Budget were great, very knowledgeable and friendly. They test drove it with me to make sure there weren't any unusual sounds. Then I drove home from Burlington to London (90 minutes), found the exhaust quiet (similiar to stock) and no bees in can sound.

babymac, did you receive your b pipe yet? or anyone else on the east cost who ordered around the beginning of the month? didn't get my Y or the tracking # yet. since today is friday, really hope i don't have to wait into next week to get it.

 

I called and got a tracking number. Its coming monday fedex. I would call jody and see what's going on.

Which one is better - Budget or Warpspeed ?

 

it's really a toss up... but i've read better things about budget on this site (less likely to get a bees in the can sound), so I just decided to go with them.

 

I installed the Y today, with a warpspeed high flow cat. My stock Y was shot, the metal braiding around the flexpipe was gone, there was only the flex part. LSS Y fitment and quality were flawless - no rattles, no bees, no BS. No difference in power noticed under 3,000 rpm or so. above 3,000 it just takes off. As far as noise, the car STILL sounds stock, which is exactly what I wanted. Thanks LSS (and warpspeed).

I got my y-pipe the other day and had it put on. Its adds lot of power and sound but in a good way. If you didnt call how else would you order it? i guess fax but you should still get it anyway. Are you calling the fax number or the telephone number?

hmmm, this is a rather long thread. Anyone know how long this deal's going? I need replacement Y-pipe, since mine is busted.

 

I think November 30th is the last day, unless it's been extended into December.

Got my b-pipe, and it looks a lot better than a "local" B-pipe. The stainless steel pipe is really good, the bends are wonderful. I probably could use a longer, bigger resonator, but I haven't installed it yet, so I don't know how this sounds.

BTW, do you guys use some special thing at the resonator-axle back junction? The connection seems good, but I really want to seal it off.

Do you know any sealant that can witsstand exhaust heat?

 

+1^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ any extra precautions we shoudl take when installing exhaust components to insure they dont leak other that the provided gaskets?

 

I could probably fit the header wrap in that junction, but with the screws/bolts it's gonna be a PITA.

 

Wrapping the DP with Termal Wrap def. helps

i ordered my y and b-pipe today. if you plan on ordering you may want to do it quickly. jody ( i beleive thats who i spoke with ) said there is only a few left and it will be after x-mas before they get any more in. i think i also got the last 4th gen b-pipe w/ resonator they had in stock.

 

Did I read that right? The SS Y-Pipe is $200 Canadian? Meaning $175 American?

 

Just ordered the Y-Pipe. The lady was laughing at me because I asked to trade up a test pipe for a b-pipe. Apparently there is a 200 dollar discrepancy b/w the two, lol. This should be a fun winter break....

 

my Ypipe + Test pipe came in yesterday, i tried taking it to an exhaust shop, and they wanted to charge me freaking $80bux to install it, some even said 200, 120, 100, i was laughing.... 80bux, i'll do that **** myself then on sat. thought it would be like 40-50bux
