resistor assembly::car or tranny specific

ever since I changed my tranny about two months ago the shifts have been a little hard especially 1-2.I know its not the tranny because sometimes it doesn't shift hard and is as smooth as can be.I read that it could be the resistor assembly.Is this located on the tranny or on the car (i.e.)can having a different tranny effect this,did the new tranny have a bad assembly??I was thinking it was the rad. support but got it fixed and it still does it.my mounts are fine also.

The resistor that you are referring to is mounted to the driver's side strut tower. You can follow the harness down from the resistor to the tranny and confirm the connection.
