0413 Oxygen sensor. LOCATION?
0413 Oxygen sensor. LOCATION?
Turned the screw and got the number 0413 for O2 sensor left bank.
3 questions:
Is the left bank the firewall side or radiator side?
Both firewall and radiator side O2 sensors are interchangable and DO NOT require different type/part number sensors, correct?
How difficult is it to reach & replace the left bank O2 sensor, i.e. does it require a lot of patience that I dont have.
Thanks for any help.

(1) The left bank O2 is the one by the radiator.
(2) I got both the front O2 sensors (OEM by Bosch) from the dealership for $116 with different part numbers. They look the same to me except for the cable (i.e. length, plastic fittings). If you get those front O2's from eBay that require splicing yourself, I believe it doesn't matter whether it is the one by the firewall or by the radiator; they are all the same.
(3) You may want to drive your car for a few minutes before starting the work. But be carefull that the area you are working with is hot. I didn't spray anything on the sensor as many suggested. The sensor came out quite easily from my car. I borrowed an O2 socket set from Autozone and use my 3/8" drive. You don't have much room to work your socket driver around. What I did was to fit the socket onto the sensor first and turned the driver head until it lined up with the squared hole on the socket in way that gave me the maximum driving angle before putting the driver onto the socket. I repeated this procedure 3 times until I could turn and remove the sensor by hand. It took me a little more than half an hour to do it for the first time.

This is all good information. I gotta do all three sensors this week myself. I got Walker's from www.oxygensensors.com.
i also need to replace my 02 sensors. i bought two universal ones from ebay for the front but they didn't have any for the back. on oxygensensors.com they have two types of universal with 3 wire and 4 wire. which do i need? I have a 96 by the way. thanks
i have a 96 and i bought the universal ones from oxygensensors.com and replaced them already, u have to get the three wired ones, iu dont have alot of room to work with but ts pretty easy.
finding them is pretty easy, just lift your car high enough that ucan fit under it with alot of space to spare and look, u must see em....
