Am I a one-percenter?

I read in one of the stickies, or possibly the newbie thread, "likelihood of you NOT having VLSD: ~99%"

The reason I ask without certainty, is because I found out the fun way tonight that it appears, that my 99 SE-L has VLSD.

It looks like it to me! Yay!

do the check according to the stickies for a vlsd, it is possible to spin both tires with an open diff on smooth pavement

this by no means is a way of Testing for VLSD, I’ve left a long line like that with my open diff, check the plate on the firewall. If there is a V in the tranny codes, yes, if not enjoy your Open diff.

newb question... whats the advantage of having a VLSD tranny? Aside from the obvious, being able to leave two thick black lines. Haha

Helps you in the twisties so the inside tire doesn't spin when applying alot of throttle in a turn.

diff not tranny. it minimizes single wheelspin that an open diff would have. with an open diff, if one of your wheel loses traction, the other wheel will lose power and the one with no traction would spin and your car will be slower. a LSD only allows a little bit of "slip" between the two wheels, meaning your wheel with traction will get some power to move your car
