tach dips to about 500rpm when braking around corners

i first experienced this a week ago when going up a hill on the way home. at the top of the hill i brake to make a right turn and the rpm went to about 5-600 and i felt a slight studdering. it goes away as i gas again. then i noticed it again yesterday driving around a parking lot and circling for a parking space. any idea why and how to fix? my car has about 138k on it. i haven't cleaned the throttle or idle intake valve (i forget what its called) for about 30k miles. i plan to do this next week when i have some time off. please help with any other suggestions.

thanks

I had a very similar problem. When i hit the brakes my rpm would drop and come back up. I was told to clean the IACV which was probably never cleaned and i have 131k. Clean it and all is well.

I have the same problem. Mine drops below 200 rpms sometimes. Does it when I let of the gas after accelerating, the step on the brakes. I don't know what it could be. I am pretty sure my IACV is clean.
