oxygen sensor O2

It looks as though I need a new O2 sensor. Does anyone know what the recommended brand is for our cars, or will the cheapest do.

Thanks for the reply. I'm normally not a big German parts fan, but in this instance 150K on some Bosch sensors are not too shabby. Are the Denso or Walker any good.

The Cali-spec has 4 sensors. This is a great site...http://www.jatan.net/02Sensor1.jpg

On a side note the "black"-B1S1 and "blue"-B2S2 are interchangeable.

my car has 142 k on it. the oem bosch just failed a week ago. but let me tell you...getting it out ended up costing me dearly.

i even had a wsp y pipe, and the thing was so tight that it took 4 hours to get off, and i stripped the thread.

so 52 for a denso sensor from rock auto (got it in 1 day). then 75 to re tap the bung. doh.

You should of put some anti-seize on the threads of the sensor before you installed it!
Would of been easier to get off.

That would be the best thing to do...I have done it to all the OEM o2's and the one's that i replaced during my install.

Hi,
I have 1999 Maxima SE with CEL on. It turned out to be the O2 sensors that needs to be replaced. Strange enough, i switched to higher grade Gas, Supreme Gas and the CEL disappered. Can someone explain this. Do i still need to replace the O2 sensors and will the car pass the inspection at this point?
thanks

They were Bosch. Same as OEM , you just have to crimp the wires to the old harness with butt connectors (instead of it coming with a connector)
