Gas Pedal vibratin'

Hello peeps, as you can see i am pretty new here i just got my right to post and i've been dying to ask this question, a month ago i bought a silver 1998 Nissan Maxima GLE (62 000 miles) a doctor drove it and he drove it real real real real slow, (he also did all maintenance by the book at the dealership like i mean everything is in perfect condition) so when i got it, i drove it a bit harder and recently my gas pedal starts to vibrate, now this doesnt slow down my car it pulls really great and everything but when i step on it at like 4000 rpm the gas pedal vibrates and then stops to vibrate and then vibrates again, sometimes tho it doesnt vibrate when i step on it, it's weird, i am really confused as to what this could be the only reason i am not that worried is because is because the maintenance was perfect so i am guessing this is something minor but i,d love to have a fellow orgers insight on this!

Thank you!

well fr33way, thanks for not answering my question and instead focusing your efforts on decoding my screen name (yes it does mean what you think and so?) , anyway, sorry for wanting to be a part of the community.

and nissan_6 yea it's worth a checkup, i'll take a look at my rotors tomorrow, tho i am pretty sure they have 1000 miles on them but they still could be warped! Thanks alot for answering something!

You're welcome (and a jackass).

It's not the rotors.

well can you tell me what it is? it would be greatly appreciated!

BTW: I don't like getting in flamewars with other members over something as trivial as a screen name or any other petty thing like that so no matter what you say to me i will not respond to you with name calling or flaming or just general spite and i also think it's unfair you make assumptions on me like those when you don't even know me.

That's fine. I guess when someone with the username "suck my dick" asks a question it takes attention away from the matter at hand and focuses it on what a jackass they are.

You could be feeling vibration from the axles.

Yeahhh.....My gas pedal vibrates becuase of my subwoofers. How badly is it vibrating? Just annoying vibrating or you can feel it actually moving back and forth?

fr33way, it could be the axles you are right i'll go verify that (bringing it on a lift tomorrow to scrape some rust), since you seem to know what you are talking about, if it was the axles does it require urgent attention or can it wait?

and OnEBadAsSi30 it's an annoying vibration it goes away at one point or sometimes just doesnt happen

If it WAS the axles I would think the quality of the axle would be to blame. I don't think an OEM Nissan axle would exhibit vibration, the boots would just go eventually. I don't think it is a matter of safety (as in not driving the car), I would just get it looked at when you have the time, money or both.

If you have any mechanically inclined friends now would be a nice time to invite them over for some beers, otherwise check the regionals (section of this website) and meet some people.

Just try to think about the parts involved with the throttle. Pedal, linkage, cables, TB (which is bolted to engine), tranny, axles, hubs/spindles/rotors, and finally all the lugnuts that hold the wheel to the hub.
