de-k swap Questions

OK I searched but alot of it was old info.
Ok i got my dek engine and im wondering a few things.

1st can i just cap the egr off and not use it. And if I do how will it run?

Ok the injectors plugs are no big deal to splice them.

OK Can I use a 95 y pipe with this engine?

I have a neo to controll the vi what rpm should I set it to to work the best.

And finally what eles do i have to do to make this swap work

You can use your 95 ypipe as long as you swap over your front exhaust manifold from your 95 engine.

I totally took the EGR off the car, welded the hole in my new headers, capped the vacuum lines running to the EGR, and capped the intake plenum. Havent really drivin the car yet so I dont have any feedback

Not a big deal. I know guys that did it. I used 4th gen injectors, 4th gen lower manifold.

4800-5100 I think is best depending on what other mods you have

Thats kind of an open ended question. Depending on what kinda mods you wanna do as your adding the motor in. Some things are easier while the motor is out. For instance the steering rack, or the alternator. I did both and alot more when I did mine. For a direct swap, you dont need much.

So the tps sensor will go the dek throttle body and plug up?and what is a coolant log?
Ok I see what you mean about relocating the iacv as it does not have a place to mount iirc.

And where can i get the fuel rail fitting to do away with the damper? and If im using a after market fuel pressure reglator wouldnt it be agood idea or easyer just to do away with the stock regulator as well?

Yeah Thanks I see now i just went and look at my dek motor today and it has the egr all ready cap at the manifold and at the intake manifold. I seen on my engine the vi has two plugs on it and the other engine I seen only had one whats the differance in the two vi's. Right at the vias two connectors under the vacum ports.

You may have gotten a Cali-spec motor, so i would check if you have butterfly flaps in your lower plenum as those need to be removed. the passenger side connector is the VIAS switch.

R.E. the 3 pics above:

1. That is the canister that actuates the swirl valves. If you don't give it vacuum, they will stay open.

2. The electrical plug on the left is to control the variable intake. The one on the right is for the swirl valves.

3. That looks like the EGRC solenoid... Not sure though.
