The ECU will "learn" new mods that you add over time on its own. I don't know how long exactly. I always heard/read that you had to disconnect the battery for a half an hour to do the "instant" reset but I don't know.

To reset the ECU, look in the sticky section and the ecu codes section. There is a post on how to reset. It pretty easy.
