Transmission Problem

Well I did something very stupid the other day. I was at a red light where I waiting to race my buddy. I have an auto tranny so I was reving it is neutral at the light. When the light turned red I put it in "D" at about 3000 RPM's. I got to my friends and turned off the car. Later on I started the car, put it in "D" and I felt a delay in the tranny engaging in drive, and then it went, put I felt it almost go thump (not smooth when finally moves). The tranny itself is perfect while I drive, no slipping. It has been 3 weeks now where every time I put it in "D" it does the same thing happens. I wanted to know if progressivly it will get worse, and if there is any use in putting some sort of tranny stuff in, Lucas?

thats called "nuetral dropping" and it basically ruins your transmission. so to you! haha jk...

but as for your question, my guess would have to be that yes, it will gradually get worse. especially if u beat on it (which it sounds like u do). cheapest fix would be get it to a tranny shop ASAP. the less broken it is when it gets in the shop, the cheaper the fix (trust me, i waited till i had just 1st gear and they raped me, then told me i should have braughten it in earlier)

Get a 5spd if you want to show off.

Now you just look like an @$$ in front of your friends.

i did that once but it was at about 1800rpm, so it wasnt bad at all, revving it up at the light and it turned green and i thought it was at idle so i put it in drive, bit of a jerk when i did it but other then that its been fine, that was probably last year.

If you put the lucas stuff in it will shift smooth for about 2 1/5 weeks then be bcak to thumping when you put it in gear.
