This would be more helpful in the 4th Gen Classifieds.

It's good to know about this, but if someone needs a KS, they should be looking in the appropriate forum, which is NOT this one.

A better question is; how do you replace those things?

the knock sensor is relatively difficult to replace from what I know because it is pretty deep within the engine bay. I see it but it is hard to reach...anyone have feedback on how they have done it? I am looking to have that change but a DIY sometime.

Get a universal joint and a real long extension for your socket set. The best way to drop the bolt when installing the new KS is to use double sided tape, and line the inside of your socket with the tape, and stick the bolt to the tape. Use these little tips, and the whole thing can be done in less than 30 minutes.

I believe they have a write up for replacing these in the stickies somewhere?? As far as the average, the local part store wants $200+ for a new KS.. And don't even ask about the dealership.....
